D's Soul Food Cafe in Louisiana

"I visited on a Friday morning! The staff were all so friendly and down to earth. This business is true service to the community. The breakfast plate specials were only $5.00. I saw several customers picking up food boxes that the restaurant seems to donate to the needy! Today's breakfast plates were fried fish with shrimp and grits and fried tenders with French Toast. The inside is spacious, clean, and has a lot of retro itemsl and decor. Now the breakfast was ok! No special frills but hey for $5.00 it was a good deal! I'd recommend to my family and friends!"

"Liver and gravy very good. Smothered okra and shrimp very good. She only cooks a few things per day and you eat that. She sells out fast. I will Go back another day. Prices reasonable."

"The food here is AWESOME! And the people are very nice and friendly. And the location is right in the middle of plaquemine's busiest part of town on Railroad Ave. along with dozens of other local businesses on both sides of the tracks. The inside of the building looks like it's been remodeled, looks very clean and has a few beautiful antique pieces for show. I was very impressed!"

"Me & my coworker below (Nancy) wanted to try some good soul food. We were going on and on about some good greens. We found Ds soul food cafe & it was a game changer. These ladies did their thing in the kitchen. It hits home. I definitely almost licked the plate . And the pudding.. ohh don’t forget about the strawberry banana pudding they made. The cookies were still crunchy, fresh fruit. Yes indeed! The service was very pleasing. They were some sweet ladies! We will be visiting again! I give this 10 stars!"

"Very good place to get home-made food(s). Not a fan of pork as there's other options nowadays; will eat it if there's nothing else.... The beef oxtails, peppergrass greens, delicious turkey, etc were an extension of my kitchen as I don't cook anything over 30 mins. Love it's a non-profit soup kitchen that $upport its community. They are wonderful people on a mission that I . Thanks for your service to this world!!!"
